A contractor is one who enters into a binding agreement with owners or owner-agents to perform work on a construction project(s). From a business management perspective, Contracts are mostly concerned with managing the amount of resources, equipment and materials and the cost of those items related to any given contract line item.

Contractors take accountability for the complete job, except for specified portions of the work that may be omitted from the general contract. Although Contractors may perform some part of the project with their own groups; they often subcontract most of the work to other construction houses or certain contractors with specific expertise.
