Problem at scale

UDOT's 14-year-old, homegrown client-server system had reached the end of its life and could no longer support the agency's needs. Accessible only within the state's firewall or via Citrix, it created significant friction for UDOT's construction contracting community and left teams buried in paper trails. UDOT needed a modern SaaS replacement that could integrate with existing systems and support field operations at scale.

  • Outdated client-server architecture required users to be inside the state firewall or use a Citrix connection, limiting access for contractors and consultants.
  • The legacy system could no longer support field data collection, cost, schedule, and contract management at the required scale.
  • New modules had to replace select PDBS components while integrating with web-based bidding, civil rights, and certified payroll systems.
  • Disorganized processes and paper-based workflows slowed down operations across UDOT, its consultants, and its contractors.

Aurigo's approach

Aurigo was selected through a competitive RFP process for its modern SaaS technology, breadth of functionality, and ease of use. UDOT has fully implemented Construction Project Management, Contract Management, and Materials Management, and is rolling out Estimation & Bidding and Civil Rights products. With over 3,000 users on the platform, Aurigo has unified UDOT's business processes, maintaining the integrity of project costs, schedules, budgets, and timelines while driving collaboration, productivity, and accuracy across the agency.

  • Construction Project Management, Contract Management, and Materials Management were fully implemented across the agency.
  • Estimation & Bidding and Civil Rights products are actively being rolled out.
  • Field staff and project teams access the platform via browser or mobile device in online and offline modes.
  • Field inspectors capture and upload site photos directly to field reports in real time via the Masterworks mobile app.
  • GPS-enabled devices automatically capture and upload location coordinates to the server.
  • Unified platform has reduced margin of error, enhanced work quality, and improved collaboration across business units.
